Why can't I send and receive files with Yahoo messenger?

Yahoo Messenger.. Cant send or receive IMs.. No text appears in the chat dialog box. Cant read archieved IMs?

  • I am using Yahoo Messenger Version 9. It was working alright until a few days before. Now any text I type doesnt appear in the dialog box. Message send by my friends are also not displayed in the chat dialog box. I tried latest version 10 from yahoo site, but it didnt solve the problem. I have written to Yahoo technical support through 'Report a Problem' option 2-3 days before, but no reesponse so far. Today i referred some online advice and used ccleaner software to clean registry etc, and after that reinstalled yahoo messenger. Still the problem remains...! Another thing I noticed is that I cant read the archived IMs. No text are displayed when I try to read the archieved messages. Looking forward to genuine support please...     If you are experiencing script errors, missing text or dropped messages when using Messenger on XP, it may be necessary to uninstall and reinstall your java run-time environment. I'm inserting the Help link for You: http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&id=SLN195&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1289369414401&y=PROD_MSNG_MSNG10 ♦Before You install the Java, Flash Player, etc....First ►Delete/uninstall the Old Versions. Do a Clean Un-install of Yahoo! Messenger: To do a Clean Un-install of Y!M: Use Add/Remove Programs to Un-install Yahoo Messenger. Now do this: click Start, click Search, type Yahoo Messenger, look in local Drive C, Click Search..... When you find the Yahoo! Messenger Folders, Delete the Folders and sub folders. Also, Search for --- Unwise.exe <<which installs Yahoo! Messenger. Delete this also. Empty your Recycle Bin..... Clear your Cache, Cookies and Browsing History. Lastly, REboot Your Computer after All the above has been done. You are now Ready for Clean INstall of Java, Flash Player and Yahoo! Messenger. Best of Luck to You..........Ð
