How to add people in Yahoo as your contact?

Can i use my yahoo messenger to talk to people using msn messenger? how come i cannot add msn contact?

    How do I add a Windows LiveTM (MSN) contact to my Messenger list? Add Windows Live friends to your contact list by clicking the “Add Contact” button – the same way you’ve always added friends to your contact list. To start IMing, your Windows Live friend must accept your invitation. Also, they must be using the latest beta version of Windows Live™ Messenger. If your IM detects a need for them to upgrade, your invitation will automatically include a link for them to download the Windows Live™ Messenger Beta :)
