What are the webcam requirements for Yahoo! Messenger?

My Yahoo Messenger freezes when I try to access Webcam.?

I have latest Yahoo Messenger (v8.1). I tried regedit tip (added Webcam dword under Software->Yahoo) and it didn't help. The webcam works correctly with MSN messenger. The same webcam was perfectly working with Yahoo Messenger until recently when it simply start freezing entire Yahoo Messenger. Also, Messenger->Preferences->Webcam->Camera setting is not accessible. Please help!

I have exact same problem - only a problem for Yahoo - not MSN Messenger. Have given up and gone back to Yahoo Messenger 7.5 which still works fine.

8.1 is still buggy, if it does it with msn messenger too then it's the camera, get new drivers.

lately msn has been having software clashes I had the same problem remove all msn software and re-download also sense the software involved was your web cam remove its software also then re Install after first taking care of msn remember the msn messenger also
