Why wont yahoo messenger receive text messages?

I use Yahoo Messenger to send text (sms) messages and about half the time it doesnt receive the texts being sent to it. This is a big problem i've been having and its very inconvenient. Even if i use Yahoo Web Messenger it still doesn't receive them all the time. What can i do to prevent it from happening? Also this happens on MSN and Aim too.

Not all phone companies are included in the list of Yahoo SMS partners so text messages to other suppliers phones will not be delivered http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/context/context-13.html
