Why doesn't my picture show on yahoo Messenger on display image?

"Yahoo! Messenger cannot convert the selected picture into a display image. Please try a different one..."?

When I launch Yahoo Messenger, I get the message: "Yahoo Messenger cannot convert the selected picture into a display image. Please try a different one. If this problem persists, make sure the hard drive isn't full". The problem is I have no display picture. There in none selected. Any idea what this means? When I close the dialog box I get an error message that Yahoo Messenger needs to shut down and I have to restart it all over again. (10 points for the best answer).

I couldn't get my display photo on mine for awhile now, just now i uninstall my yahoo messenger and reinstall it and then restart my computer and now i got it back on. Idk what version you're using but i reinstall yahoo messenger 10 and that got my photo back on.
