Sorry to tell you but Yahoo Messenger for Windows Vista does not have the ability to join chat rooms but the good news is that you can install one other version on your computer at the same time. Choose either 9.0 beta or 8.1. Both those can join chat rooms. I recommend the 9.0 beta since it now since May 29, 2008 has the ability to get voice in the yahoo chat rooms for Vista users in the newest update. With 8.1 you would have to install the true speech codec which is simple to do in order to get voice. Do not try to sign into them both at the same time with the same Yahoo ID though. --------------------------- DIFFICULTY DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING YAHOO MESSENGER? Try rebooting your computer then do not open any programs except going to http://messenger.yahoo.com/ and downloading new installer and save it to your desktop. At the top of YM click on Help and the About Yahoo Messenger and a small window will tell you the version. Be sure to also include the decimal places.
