Why won't Windows Live Messenger open?

Why won't Windows Live Messenger stay open on my computer?

  • it doesn't matter what I do, MSN will just close and say it has "stopped working". Every time I open it, it barely stays open for two minutes before it does this again and again. It's been doing it for the last few months. Eventually when it keeps doing it, Vista will say it is turning on Diagnostics to see if it can "fix the problem" but that pretty much does s**t. I've just been having to use the web messenger because of it. really have no idea why it's doing this and I tried restarting my computer over and over and tried reinstalling it and it still does it. I just upgraded to the new MSN and it still does it. Why and what can I do?
