YAHOO MESSENGER AND YAHOO PULSE PROBLEM?
-
ok. so before i download messenger 11, i was able to update my status casually. when i downloaded, i realized my updates are being sent to yahoo pulse. now that i have changed the settings (selected not to share updates, deleted the previous ones, hid my yahoo pulse profile, etc), i (and my friends have said as well that they) can view some of my recent updates because of yahoo pulse. i have added myself, so i would know. when i log in as available/busy without any status update, it would appear as " First Name Last Name Shared insert status here", the "shared" word being gray and the status being colored. when i hover my mouse over my name, my previous statuses can be seen. i hate having any history regarding my status updates in y!m, so youre help is really needed. im frustrated by this issue. please help :(

Answer:
Click on "Messenger" in the top left hand corner of the Messenger Pane. Click on "Manage Updates I Broadcast". This will take you to your Profile page. (Now called Pulse). UNTICK the box "Share my Updates". Click on "Save" at the bottom of the page. You can also choose which Updates you want to share from your Pulse page. To do this, click on the "Settings" tab. Then click on "Manage Updates" under "Updates". If you want to share some of them, TICK the box "Share my Updates". Choose the ones you want to share and then click on "Save" at the bottom of the page. TO MANAGE THE UPDATES FROM YOUR CONTACTS: Click on "Messenger" in the top left hand corner of the Messenger Pane. Click on "Preferences". Click on "Yahoo Updates". Click on the box "Customise Yahoo! Updates". Untick the boxes next to your Contacts' names for the updates you do not wish to see. Click on "OK" at the bottom. Please note that these Updates can take up to 5 days to clear. HIDING YOUR PULSE PAGE You cannot remove or deactivate your Pulse Page but you can hide it as follows: Go to your Pulse Page. Click on "Settings" which is a tab above your Connections. Click on "Manage Privacy Settings" under the "Privacy" heading. Tick the bottom box "Hide my Profile". Click on "Save" at the bottom. You may also wish to stop people from searching for you by ticking the top box "Allow people to find my profile by searching for my name and info".
