Why do I keep getting disconnected from YM?

I keep getting disconnected from messenger?

i have installed many versions and STILL keep getting disconnected. i have tried different isp's and am now using a cable modem w/ ethernet. the message i keep getting is.....''the USB phone is no longer connected to messenger". i am not using a phone w/ the interenet.
Answer:

go to messenger preferences and check the connection tab Make sure connection has no proxies. Internet connection is set to broadband/cable also under general TAB make sure the last option "signing out of messenger" is not ticked. if u still have problems then revert back to me.
