How do I change what other people see as my name in messenger?

Why i change my yahoo messenger name but other people cant see?

• I have changed my name in "My Contract Details", n when i chat with friends i can see my name had changed, but my friends just cant see my name that had changed, just only saw my id as my name. So could someone tell me how to let other people see that the name i have change? Please...

  Your old ID is what is going to show up to them because that is what you had when you added each other. They will need to right click on your name then go to Contact Details and change the Nickname or whatever they have to your new one. If you add any other people to your friends list now your new Name will be what shows up on their contact list. You can do the same with your Contacts names also, you can name them anything you want to. Let's say you have a friend on your list that shows up as Bill , you could right click on his name then go to Contact Details and change his name to Wild-Bill. Then Wild-Bill would be what shows up on your friends list. hope this explains and helps ?
