Cant view webcam of friend even though it says it is on?

My friends webcam is on. It says "View my webcam" in blue... or they invite me.. I click on it and it says "webcam not available" wtf ? in the past I told the person they had 2 profiles and they needed to invite me from the one they started the cam on. but in this case the friend has msn and aim off and they have one profile... what the heck is going on ? In another unrelated question... How come yahoo advanced member serach has not worked worth a flip in about 6 yrs ?
