How do I fix my yahoo messenger?

  • Every time I log onto my yahoo messenger it will stay on for a good minute or two. Then after that it jus says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." and then it shuts down my yahoo messenger. It's not a virus because I scanned my computer for a virus twice. I also changed the password to my yahoo account to see if it was someone trying to get into my account, but it wasn't that either. It says it will give me a solution but I received no solution.Can somebody please tell me how to fix my yahoo messenger?!!!!!

    You need to go to your control panel which you can find that program through click on "start" and once you're in control panel follow the prompts to uninstall your messanger and once it's uninstalled, download it again. I haven't done that before but my friend told me that it still keeps your friends when you install it again. Hope all goes well. =)

before sign in click on <messenger> and then <connections> and mark on <use no proxy> and also check your system's firewall settings to allow messenger.........if don't work then uninstall and reinstall messenger with the help of link below. http://www.freecreed.com/ http://oldapps.com/yahoo_messenger.htm good luck

Uninstall it completely. Then reinstall, making sure you install the correct version for your version of Windows.

If its messenger beta 9 you are using, uninstall it and go back to a previous versionfor the time being. Beta means unfinished or still in development. You can always reinstall it when the glitches/bugs have been sorted out. Sites listed below have all the versions of yahoo messenger thats ever existed. I hope that helps you.

log in..... goto HELP / Check for Updates no need to uninstall just reinstall over and all you contacts and settings will be there
