Why can't I access Yahoo messenger?

I can t acess my yahoo messenger?

    Is this a new installation of Messenger? If so, are you able to get the sign in window to open, then type in your ID and password but when you click "Sign In" nothing happens? If that's the case, do you have a firewall or are you using Windows XP with it's own firewall? If so, open Messenger, close the sign in screen and click "Messenger" at top left of the main Messenger window. Click "Connection Preferences" then choose "Firewall with no proxies". Also make sure your type of connection and your location are correct, click "Apply" then "OK". You should be able to sign in after that. If you've had Messenger installed and have been using it for a while and have not changed any settings then the following advice I learned from Missy Angel may help. Go to C:\ Program Files\ Yahoo!\ Messenger\ cache. In this folder you will see many XML documents with a series of gibberish letters and numbers as file names. These are temporary files, delete them, then try signing in. Do not empty your Recycle Bin until you are certain that everything still works. If deleting these files screws something up you can always restore them back to their original location from your Recycle Bin.

Join the club!!! Damn Yahell!!! If you just leave it once you have tried to open it it will at sometime open if you don't keep playing with it but I know a lot of people are having this trouble.

This is happening to a lot of people lately. Its more than likely not your computer. I think Yahoo has been doing up-dates lately that are interrupting some services. You should be able to log in within a few hours at the most. At least that has been about the average time. Its the price to pay for up-dates! Sorry..=(
