Why can I not send a text to a certain number on Yahoo! messenger?

I am trying to text my girlfriend from yahoo! messenger because I do not have a phone, it was working the night before and just stopped working this morning, every time I send her a text, it gives me a notice in red that says: SMS could not be sent to : ***********. It may be an invalid mobile number, formatted incorrectly, or no longer in service. She can send me messages just fine, I just can't respond. I really need help because it is long distance and it is one of only 2 ways I can talk to her and the only way I can talk to her all the time. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Answer:
Go to your yahoo email inbox and click on the drop down arrow next to "compose message". Then click on SMS. Try it from there. OR if you haven't done so, on YMessenger click on the messenger tab, then open "preferences". On the list, look for and click on "mobile". Click to Add Mobile Number. Then click "apply" and then "ok"
