Did you "upgrade" to version 11? If so, you may need to do the mobile messenger connection all over again: In Messenger, click Messenger on the Tool bar and scroll to Sign into a Mobile Device, during the course of signing up, you're going to see the option, Automatically sign me into my mobile phone whenever I log out of Messenger. Fill in the box and continue with your registration. Once done, Yahoo will send a 4 digit code to your phone acknowledging the set-up and from there, you'll be good to go. If you don't get the code within minutes of sending it, it would only be because Yahoo doesn't do business with your carrier, as is their right.
