Is entering chat rooms on Yahoo Messenger safe?

Are there problems with Yahoo chat connections?

I am having a difficult time entering chat rooms on Yahoo. Is there a problem with the servers? Or is there another reason. I do have the latest version of messenger, but when I attempt to enter a chat room I keep getting a message saying it took long to connect to chat try again later. I am on high speed Internet and do not know how to correct this problem.
Answer:

it has been like that for the past month or two. I am not sure what the problem is. Yahoo has some kind of glitch/technical issue in their system it seems like. Hopefully they'll get it straightend out soon!
