How do I send a person a message through my Yahoo?

Can someone send message from my yahoo IM ID to the person I'm chatting to without me knowing.I suspect this

  • I had a tiff with this guy in one of the chat rooms, and i think he's sending out obscene messages to people through my yahoo messenger ID.It happened a few times, once I stepped out for a bit & when i came back I had all obscene messages from ID's i've never chatted to before and they were clearly in a retaliatory nature. Also I remember the messenger shutting down a few times in betweeen before this(i use the version 9..the new one)Can this also be done by someone while I'm online chatting, like in between my conversation, can someone send out messages from my ID, I can swear I sensed it. Please confirm if this is possible also the measures i should take to resolve this & prevent it in future. Please help i dont think I'll be using my ID till I hear from you. Also I would very much like to continue with yahoo messenger, please help. Thanks

    Hackers do it all the time-they sign in as a parody of your name or ID. They are called snerts,stealing someones identity and using it maliciously

I don't think it is possible that he is sending messages through your ID ... unless he has cloned your ID or made an id very similar to yours. Good luck to you.

I don't know how he can be using your id, he doesn't know your password. He could mention your yahoo id to people in chatrooms. Change your password or use a different ID

it can be and it can't be not: can be <>: =if a person knows the password of your ID, he/she can log in using that ID BUT this person has to enter thru the Java Applet not on messenger both IMessenger or Webmessenger. =this person can be cloning your name and use it. take note that the latest yahoo version will allow a user to show either his/her "ID" or "nickname" to other users. hence, he/she may created an ID and uses "your ID" to be his/her name during the registration process. eg; your ID is "rush_n_go" and this person created an ID with "xxxb4tcherxx" & the info such as zip code; b-date; etc & on the name is:rush_n_go. and when he/she gets online, this person chooses the rush_n_go to be showed on other users rather than the ID "xxxb4tcherxxx". i hope you got what i mean here. can't be<>: -if you are online on the messenger and this person will get online with your ID on the messenger also, you will receive a notice of disconnection of your ID because your "ID is online on another device". -if you keep on being disconnected while on chat even if your connection is good, then this person is trying to connect your ID. and when you are disconnected, he/she is using it this time, hence you will find obscene messages when you comes back. -if the messages you received on different IDs which you haven't talked to them and never knew these IDs, then it's practically from the spammer, c4nts, no life people in chat rooms and had overlooked into your ID and send these messages and or sometimes clickable links which lead you to porn site. this can be possible if you don't ignore anyone who is not on your messenger list. BUT if you are not allowing anyone to IM/PM you, then these messages are really from one person only that you've been sensing of.
