How to create a cool nickname?

How to log on to yahoo messenger with a nickname? i mean how to apply or create a nick name?

  • wenever i chat on messenger, it displays either my id or my first and last name. how can i avoid this. i mean i want to display another name when chatting

  • Answer:

when you log in on the messenger, you really need to log in with your ID. and if you want only your name to be displayed to the other party while talking on IM, click on the messenger box, "My Contact Details" and change the name or put a name you want. leave space blank for the rests and click "Save and Close". log out and close the messenger to activate the changes you made. you may restart your PC if possible. *those people who had added you will not be able to see your new name unless they have to Edit it in their contact list. BUT your future friends who will add you will be able to see the new name you had entered.

Go to your yahoo messenger friends list. Click on messenger, then click on "my contact details", underneath the box in which you could enter your first, last and middle name is a box that says nickname. Enter your new nick, save it and you're done. If users already added you to their messenger list and/or address book, your old name setting will continue to get displayed for them. If you want those users to see your new name also, ask them to remove you from their messenger list and/or address book and add you back with your new info.
