My password for yahoo.com works but not for Yahoo messenger, why?

I cant use my yahoo instant messenger as my yahoo.com password does not work? why?

Answer:
if you changed your password recently and you saved your password for messenger then you need to type in your new password. messenger still has your old password saved.
