How do you delete your AIM account?

  • Can anyone tell me how to delete my AIM account? I have like 2 and I don't need them both.. EASY 10 POINTS.

  • Answer:

Short story is, you can't cancel or delete an AIM account really, but you can set it so that it doesn't "pop up" when you turn on your computer. Sign into AIM (I don't think you have to use the account in question, just any account) and go into the Options screen. Somewhere in there should be an option to "start up with windows" or "start when i turn on the computer" -- I don't know the exact wording, but it's pretty obvious. Uncheck that box, then save your changes and sign out of AIM. You should see the sign-in box. Use the dropdown to select the user account you want to remove from your computer and just hit your Delete key. That account will be removed from your AIM window.
