Are you able to log into yahoo messenger?

I am able to log in to my yahoo mail id but i am not able to log in to my yahoo messenger..?

i tried installing and re installing the yahoo messenger beta 09..but still couldnt..
Answer:

open ''connection preferences'' from'' Messenger''menu in the YM before you sign in then select '' Firewall with no proxies'' & press OK
