Where is the message archive stored?

How can i raed my messenger message archive even when i am offline?

  • i want to read my message archive stored on my computer even when i am offline.......there was one decoder available which promsed to be free but was just a lie as it stops working after a day and asks fo $15 as donation........so guys...if you can help

    You can't read your archived messages without being signed into Messenger. The files are coded so that only Messenger can read them, and only when signed in with the ID with which they were created. There are other programs available to get around this, as you've already discovered they are often worthless. If you need to read them, just sign in and read them, it's not that big a deal. If you don't want anyone to know you are online just sign in under Invisible Mode, the option is on the sign in window

Each person has the option of having their message archive go to a different location. The best thing for you to do is go under start...in the pop up window click on search. Search for your "(your screen name) archive" That should locate it on your computer.
