Why is yahoo messenger acting like this and how can I fix it?

When clicking into yahoo messenger it automatically signs into my yahoo id..so how do i fix that?

  • When trying to stop the yahoo messenger from automatically signing into my yahoo id, i followed the instructions from yahoo to request an id and password. when i pressed to sign out, there was no "yes" botton, then i unclicked the option "Remember my ID & Password", i clicked out, but when i clicked back into yahoo messenger, it went into my yahoo id again without requesting a password. so how do i solve this problem with requesting an id and password?

    Here are some options for solving your problem: Go to the Messener menu (at the top of your IM screen) --> Preferences. Then, UNCLICK the following boxes: "Automatically start Yahoo! Messenger" "Automatically sign me in when I click a Yahoo! link in Messenger" Also, just make sure that you're "signing out" everytime instead of just minimizing the window. Even after you close the main window, Yahoo Messenger will be running in the background... So, when you open it again, it's still logged in from before.
