How do you delete your Yahoo account and start a new one?

HOW DO I DELETE MY YAHOO ACCOUNT AND START A NEW ONE? I DONT WANT CERTAIN PPL ON MY MESSENGER!?

    You do not need another account though I will still show you how to do this too, all you really need to do is delete their names off of your messenger list. And if you do not want them ever sending you messages or seeing you as being online then put them on the Yahoo! Ignore list. I will tell you how to do that too. Another option is you could just leave them on your list but use the stealth settings on them so that you always appear to be offline to them. To delete a name from your messenger list just right click their name and choose delete. Now be careful when deleting names from your messenger list because the system gets overloaded very easily and when you restart yahoo messenger you will find their names back on because you never really took them off. It is trial and error as to how many you can do at a time in a certain time period. If you have many to take off it is better to sign into your Yahoo! Mail for that account and delete them from your contacts there, it will also remove them from Y!M. If you do not care if the people you delete can see you online or can send you instant messages then you are done. If you do not want those things then you can put them on the Yahoo! Ignore List. Or you can just change your settings in 9.0 to not allow anyone who is not on your messenger list to send you instant messages. -------------------------------------- HOW DO I IGNORE OR BLOCK SOMEBODY ON Y!M? To ignore somebody permanently on Yahoo Messenger you need to put them on the Yahoo Ignore List. This will make it so that you do not see the person in the Yahoo chat rooms, get instant messages from them and they cannot see you as being online even if you are still on their contact list. If they are on your contact list you will need to delete their name first. At the top of Yahoo Messenger click the Messenger menu and then Preferences. Now choose the Ignore List category. Tick the bottom option "Ignore only the names below," and then click Add. Type in their Yahoo ID. And then click Apply. You can now choose the top option if you want to restrict your IM's to only your contacts. Look you don't have to make another account.If you don't want these people bothering you.All you do is right click on whoever you want to avoid talking to,Then click on stealth settings.select appear permanently offline to this contact.Then if you really want to be stealthy just click on messenger (at the top of your messenger) then select privacy options,Now you will see a box that says allow yahoo websites to show when I am online.make sure it's unchecked.Now if those people visit any yahoo site or your profile they will not see you on line at all.

you can get rid of those people you don't like even if you won't delete your account by deleting their names in your contact list and putting them in your Ignore List through the YM messenger box, Preferences > Ignore List: put the ID of those people you don't like to talk/chat and click OK. *now, if you don't like to receive messages from people not in your list, activate also the Ignore LIst thru "Preferences > Privacy > Ignore List: tick the box that says [Ignore anyone who is not on my Messenger LIst] and click OK. done!
