Can I transfer contacts from my old Yahoo Messenger account into my new one?

I recently changed my name, and set up my old Yahoo Mail account to forward into my new Yahoo Mail account (so I only have to check the one account now, and all messages I send now come from the new account). I would like to do a similar thing with all my Yahoo Messenger contacts. Is it possible to transfer my contacts out of my old Yahoo Messenger account into the new one, without having to contact each one of my Friends individually? I would really like to retire my old Yahoo ID. For whatever it's worth, I have Yahoo Mail Plus on both accounts, so I am paying for premium services on both.

you would need to add each one of your messenger friends to the new messenger name>>there is No way of transferring them as a group

if you have to two computers, you can send the file to your new account from the old one by getting online with both accounts and click to "Send My Messenger List". if you don't have two computers to do that, you will need to add them again one by one.
