How do I unlock my Yahoo! Messenger account?

  • Every time I try to access a couple of my Yahoo! Messenger accounts I get the message "Account locked: Too many failed login attempts. Logging into the Yahoo! website may fix this." Trying to login to my regular Yahoo! account with the same handle doesn't work either. How do I fix this?

if you had accessed the account for multiple times using an incorrect password, it will lock the account to ensure security. if you're not the one who mistakenly accessed with incorrect password, someone could be doing that to you! try to leave that account "untouch" for over 24~48hours. then once it lapses, log in using the original password ON the WEB page of yahoo and not the messenger first. if one attempt fails, click the link "I can't access my account" and follow prompts.
