How come my yahoo messenger won't sign me in?

How come I'm not able to sign in on Yahoo! messenger?

I always talk to my friends on Yahoo! messenger, but today no matter how many times I try, it won't let me sign in. I put in the correct password, but it leads me straight back to the words "sign in" on the toolbar....can anyone help me?

You now have to insert .50 cents for every 3 minutes to talk on Yahoo Messenger. If you need change for a dollar please contact customer service via messenger for assistance. Thank you

I have the same problem like you. I suppose Messenger just has crashed. I will try again tomorrow, maybe they have fixed the problem. (sorry for my bad English!)

Yahoo server is down right now. Pretty much for everyone. Only My Yahoo, 360 and Yahoo answers are up.
