Is it possible to block email from a yahoo group while staying a member?

  • Is it possible to stay a member of a Yahoo group while blocking their email? I am a member of a bunch of different Yahoo groups and get individual emails from only a few of them and special notices from even fewer. I would like to set up my account to where only people on my contacts list can send me email. Would it be possible to only add the addresses from the groups I want to receive emails/special notices from into my contacts list but still remain a member of the other groups?

    I got tired of all the messages criss-crossing and duplicating themselves, so I turned off the messages. I'm still a member of the group, I just don't get their email any more.

** if you figure a way to do what you want, you should let us all know. the way Yahoo works is the mailed address is that of the member(s) and you'd need to block those but honestly, why be in a Yahoo group, on individual mail and block all but a few? if you figure it out and the posts are not deliverable, you may end up bouncing. good luck the thing with blocking group mail is that the sender is the members e-mail address (via the group), you'd have to block every single member of a groups e-mail addresses. the better option is to select no mail setting for your membership.
