How to edit an email address?

  • How do I edit a members email address? Now that our group has been around for a while, there are some email address changes. When a member notifies me that their email address should be changed from aaa@aaaaaa to bb@bbbbbb how do I edit their email addresses?

    no one but the account holder/ group member can edit the e-mail address of any one. if they could, it would be a major security issue. give your members these instructions for those who want heir addresses changed go to this link- http://groups.yahoo.com/myprefs click add email address on top left- follow steps and confirm address. then go to this link http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups click edit my groups on the top left- locate group (if there's more than one) under the column Email Address click the arrow for the drop down box and select new address- click save changes Members who joined via e-mail subscribe (not having a yahoo ID) would just subscribe with the new address by sending a blank e-mail to [email protected]

The member needs to edit their own email address information. At the top of the group page (when they are logged in) there is a link to "Edit Membership" - this will allow them to add email addresses and link the proper address to the the group. It's their Yahoo! membership that needs to be updated not your group.
