How do i advertise to people in another state?

How do I spark people's interest in my Yahoo! Group?

  • I created a Yahoo! Group to meet people of the same religious/spiritual path(s) as me. However, no one has looked at it. I would like to know how I can get people's interest. I have seen questions similar to this one before, but the answers weren't exactly what I was looking for. A couple of answers said to make the group look really nice, but that won't do any good if no one knows the group even exists. I'm looking for answers that state more of how to let people know that the group is there. I guess I'm kind of wondering how to advertise my Yahoo! Group, just not in a way to irritate people because I'm bothering them. Also, giving an answer that involves telling my online friends about the group doesn't work for me since I really don't have any online friends yet. I've been using the internet for a long while now, but I just started trying to meet people online, so, at least for right now, I'm all alone.

    what some people do is create free web sites of the same topic, and adding the Yahoo groups promote code to that. it directs people outside of a Yahoo search to your group. One main thing about any new group, is it has to be a topic of interest for it to take off. less interest just takes more time for those to think to do a search. most times, any new group doesn't gain members a whole lot within the first month. add the groups URL to your mail signature. Add it to your profile, many are profile readers, I am. add it to your profile here at YA's. I personally do not join a group due to it's appearance. a group could have a real neat homepage but a long gone owner and the group is filled with spam. good luck

Join advertising groups and advertise, put a link to your group as your emails signature when your sending emails..Have you even thought of making up a few flyers and sticking them on bulletin boards? Good luck :o)

Start by making your site look sharp. Choose custom colors a good photo and welcoming message. Click edit beside description on your cover page, scroll down and you will find where to do all that. Send an email to all your friends and relatives with the URL pasted in explaining the group and inviting them to join and asking them to forward the message to their friends and relatives asking the same. Periodically post a message asking the members reminding them that new members are always welcome and ask your members for suggestions. Do not allow members access to the member's list, if you do and a member gets annoyed at you they could try and get them to join another group or spam the members Add moderators as your group grows and ask them for more input. HTML links to other sites which are pertinent to your group add color and interest to your cover so add them by pasting the codes in just below your welcome message and email their webmasters asking them to do the same. You can also add a hit counter to your cover page. To find them just do a search for “free hit counters”, there are lots available. Put first posts on moderation that way you won’t get spammers. If a member’s first post is spam, ban them right there and then. also if a member is causing problems ban them fast you don't need the aggravation.One thing to keep in mind it isn’t necessarily the number of members your group has but the participation which makes a group interesting.
