How to receive all of a group's archived messages?

Why do senders not receive a copy of any messages they send to Yahoo Groups and how to change that?

  • When senders do not receive a copy of their own posts, they are uncertain if their message was sent to other members. It is a waste to have to be subscribed with another email address or check the Yahoo Groups website just to confirm that your message has been sent, instead of being able to receive it the same as other members do. This reduces confidence that Yahoo Groups is reliable. I'm the owner of 6 Yahoo Groups (some since 2000) and it wasn't always this way. What happened to Yahoo Groups? Is there some setting that they changed the default on? How can I change it back?

  • Answer:

aside from there being a posting delay which does happen and needs to be ruled out, really the only time I have ever heard this happening is of those who use gmail, and it does create a ton of confusion. gmail has a default setting that decides for you that you wouldn't want another copy, so you don't get it. I don't know where that setting in gmail is, but it's there and once users change it, they'll get their copy. I'd be betting those members are using gmail, and it's not a Yahoo groups issue at all.
