Is it possible to add the stationary at Yahoo! mail permanently to outgoing mail or does it have to be added?

How do I add a name to a Yahoo!Groups member e-mail.?

  • I have a number of members of my Yahoo!Group that are not Yahoo members. When they were added or joined, they do not a have a name associated with the e-mail address. I found that if use the Add from a list method, I can add a name, but I don't see how to add a name to an existing e-mail address. I don't want to delete them and re-add them. Thanks.

    The members are supposed to do this, not you. They sign into Yahoo with their ID and Password. Go to their My Groups page and at the very bottom it says Don't see all your groups? Click there and work their way through it to associate their ID with their email address. Hope that helps!

As long as you are not expecting members of your group to do anything more than send and receive messages, a Yahoo ID is not required to be a member of a Yahoo group. Sure, to us folks fluent in "all things Yahoo" it would be wonderful if all of our group members could participate fully in the group (files, polls, etc.), but not everyone wants to give that level of commitment. Some folks are tired of always having to register for something new online--and then there are folks with identity fraud concerns. If it isn't absolutely necessary for your group members to participate in the web-based features of the group, leave them alone. If it is necessary, you can go to the member list, page to the end (that's where all members without Yahoo profiles are listed) and click on the "Request Profile" link. This will assist you in sending a message to these folks (one at a time) with instructions for accessing the group on the web and, if necessary, signing up for a Yahoo ID.
