Why does Yahoo suspend people for writing silly answers but not pedophile groups who are breaking the law? ?
-
Recently on a local news show I saw that Yahoo had at least one pedophile group in their listings and had not removed it (even after said news show had contacted the FBI) but yet, people can get reported for Answer "abuse" even if the answer to some question is simply not to the liking of the asker. For example, someone posted something about Wrestling (WWF), and someone wrote about how they don't like watching wrestling because of the repressed homosexual tendancies that are latent in it, and this answer (which was serious, if not academic) was deemed abuse and removed by Yahoo and also the account that asked that question was suspended. So why does yahoo allows perverts and rapists to have groups (which go unmonitored) and yet goofy answers ruin accounts?

I got a violation for a question and an answer today. For nothin bad at all. Send a appeal and nothing but a form letter saying community guidelines were not met. I must of missed the small print where it says pedophile is allowed in their guidelines. Yes Y/A is very hipocritical.

Yahoo is stupid and inconsistent in how it applies the rules, deleting the accounts of innocent users and then letting the real violators stay to spread their filth. I didn't realize it had made the news. I wish I'd seen the story. But it sucks. You're not the only one who got suspended for minor infracitons. It has happened to several of my friends. They weren't breaking the rules or anything but they just had enemies that reported them over and over. Nobody knows the exact number of times you have to be reported before you're deleted but it can happen anytime to anyone. My friend Ruby had NO notices of violation and, for no reason, she lost her account. (Though they let her keep her email.) My pal Lynne had asked a couple of bizarre questions and got deleted for asking. (for example, she was joking about confusing the tabasco sauce for the douche and now needing to stop the burning "down there" and that's the question that cost her the account!) She lost EVERYTHING! Her Yahoo Answers account, her email, her address book, everything!! On the other hand, another friend had dozens of violations for "chatting" before they took away her account. So I guess it all depends on what a person does. I know the worst she was "guilty" of was chatting but it cost her the account! Yahoo is NOT FAIR! They are a bunch of Nazis!! If you appealed and lost the appeal there's absolutely nothing you can do to get your account back. Sorry. Now you know why some people call this place YaHELL.
