Click here: Yahoo! 360° - littler. yellower. differenter! - ERROR 999?! http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-whFQC_Q0aagBWaBYbOHpMIhX3F85?p=2279 "If you're on refreshing Yahoo! pages a lot - a LOT - I'm talking hundreds of pages per hour - the Yahoo! servers will start getting concerned that you're trying to a Denial-of-Service attack, meaning that you're purposely taking up bandwidth so that other Yahoo! users can't use the site. When that happens, you get an Error 999 and you'll not be able to access the site for an hour or so. After time passes, you're able to access Yahoo! in your usual way." If you get the 999 errors without a good reason, it might be because someone else using the same IP address is also using Yahoo! This is quite common in families with multiple PCs sharing a single IP address off a home router with connectivity via Cable or DSL. It's also common in College dorms and some apartments where internet access supplied and shared throughout a building unit. (The usage is oversubscribed for the nodes provided by the gateway.)
