Moderator of a busy group, will be gone a while, don't want my inbox filled with approval emails..?
-
I'm having a surgery that will have me gone from home for over a month. I am a moderator for a busy support group and am on "No email" status (I read messages from the web page instead). But of course I always get the "Membership approval" and the "Message approval" emails (our new members stay moderated for a while to prevent spamming and flaming). Is there a way I can turn off getting those management emails so that my inbox won't be so cluttered when I return home? Being gone a month or more, the busy group may generate 300-500 moderator-related messages to me. Apart from asking to have me moderator status temporarily revoked, I am not really sure what to do. Any advice?

Answer:
You should be able to turn this off--I assume from what you have said that there are other moderators who can approve messages in your absence. When you login in to your group, go to "edit membership." At the bottom should be a section that says "email notification." You can use the boxes there to indicate what types of emails you want to receive. And when you're back, you can always go in and turn them back on. I hope your surgery goes well!
