How do you delete any of your groups in Yahoo?

How do i delete my own group on Yahoo! Groups and i want to delete it? (a.k.a easy 10 points if you join)?

  • Ok so i made this group [ http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/barts_treehouse/ ] and i dont think i want it anymore. Its lame and when i said leave group i had no members and i didnt invite anyone and they said i had to pick a new group owner. What should i do? I cant invite because i dont know anybody who likes Bart Simpson. What should i do? Want easy ten points? Help! Whoops.

  • Answer:

This will work: Sign in to the group you wish to delete. Click on Management. On right side of screen under "Delete Group", click on "Delete" and then confirm that you do want to delete the group. Once the group is deleted, everything related to it will also be gone and cannot be retrieved.

As far as I know, you can't explicity delete it, but do this: De-list your group in the Directory: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/original/ownmod/starting/starting-10.html Make sure you're group's membership is restricted: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/original/ownmod/starting/starting-20.html You stated the group has no members, so you don't need to do anything about that. Now, no one will ever find the group, you can pretend it doesn't exist, and if by some miracle someone tries to join, you can simply ignore the request. Eventually (in my case it was about 2 years!), Yahoo! will send you a notice that your domant group is about to be removed. Ignore it and let them delete the group.
