How to change group settings?

How do you change the settings on your group?

  • Ok i have looked all over to figure out how to change my settings to make my group a public group and not invitation only. Help please

    Sorry, if your group's membership type is set as "Closed (Only invited members can join)", it cannot be changed. FYI, here are the current membership type setting options which I just got through copying from one of my groups: * Open (anyone can join) * Restricted (you approve all requests for membership) * Closed (only invited members can join) If you select this option, web tools that were previously set to "public" will be restricted to members only. Once you have selected this option, you may not change it later.

Yahoo is looking into changing this, since many seem to miss the red text warning this setting cant be reversed. in the management/ memebrship setting of a closed group, you will see in read text "This setting cannot be changed." sorry, a closed group is always a closed group at this time.
