How to make the yahoo group account able again?

When you make a Yahoo! e-mail account, is that same e-mail ID used when you join a Yahoo! group?

• for example, my email user name is my first and last name separated by an underscore. will that user name show up when i join a yahoo group, or can i pick out a different name? i can't have my real name in it, it's for a school online discussion class thing, AP class.

  If you log in to the Yahoo Groups web site with the Yahoo ID that is the first part of your Yahoo e-mail address (the part before the @ sign), then that Yahoo ID will show when you join a Group during that login. However, there is a way to join a Group with a different Yahoo ID. The way to do this is to create and use an alternate ID under the main ID you already created. If you join a Group with the alternate ID, nobody will be able to tell that it's in the same account as your main ID. To create an alternate ID, log in with your main ID to http://members.yahoo.com/ . Then click on the View My Profiles link towards the upper-right-hand corner. Then click the Create New Public Profile button near the center of the page. Then follow the directions on the resulting page. After you finish setting up this alternate ID, you will be able to choose either it or your main ID whenever you join a Group (this choice will be your first selection on the one web page Yahoo has everyone fill out when they join a Group to choose their settings for that Group).
