How many members are allowed in a Yahoo group?

Am I required to receive email from my Yahoo group?

  • The Yahoo group I am a part of requires members to at least subscribe to "Special Notices" - in other words we are not allowed to be on "No Email". But I don't want any email - I want to read the postings of the group online and that's it. Can a Yahoo! group force me to receive moderator email?

  • Answer:

kinda yes they can. owners can set their own rules and if you don't abide by them, they can remove you from their membership. special notices for most groups are not that often and when an owner sends one, this statement is there: "Send this message as a Special Notice Note: Some members have chosen to receive email messages only when there are important updates from the group moderator. If you select this box, those members will receive this message. Use this feature responsibly." hopefully the group will use it responsibly.
