How to cancel a Group in YAHOO?

How do I cancel links to dead links in a Yahoo Group search?

  • I cancelled some messages on request into my Yahoo group. However, when I search for a key-word in the search box of my group, just to check whther the messages effectively disappeared, a result page comes up with a series of links to those messages I cancelled... clearly dead links... (when you click on them, they do not exist anymore). My problem is: on the result page, those dead links include mentions of senders and a description of the content to be found in the message. This might be a problem for my user, who asked complete removal of her contents... Are those links cache copies and will they disappear on their own or will they stay in my group forever? Is there any way to remove those links then? thks

  • Answer:

nothing with yahoo ever seems to take effect right away. it could be part of yahoo's cache. the member might of had better luck if they deleted their own posts, but for whatever reason why they wanted them deleted, there's nothing you can do about it if it comes up in a search within the posts. had your group had public posts, on the web the caches show them as well for a few days. you can send the help form to yahoo help form http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/original/ownmod/forms/general.html;_ylt=Arz4ruP4UvDhafYZVOhh8SoKCXdG?from_url=http://messages.groups.yahoo.com/Groups/Moderators/threadview?m=tm&bn=grp-issues&tid=28812&mid=28818&tof=1&frt=1
