How do I access a Yahoo group archive?

How do you archive messages in a Yahoo group.?

  • i started a yahoo group in 2005 and most of the emails are still in the message list, i need to move old messages that are still useful to a file folder to easily know when a message was sent or when an event happened and such. i cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. i figured out how to change the access level for people to look at the archived messages but cannot figure out how to actually archive the messages... please help asap

    The list of messages is actually the archive and in chronological order. Of course, you already know that ;) If you want to pick certain ones to save elsewhere, you would have to copy/paste them individually. If you place them anywhere other than their YG original location, you must get permission from the members who posted them to the group. Some owners have their own private website and store copies of group related stuff. If you create a website and do this, you would need to place a link to your website in the Yahoo group description and make known what you have done. What members post on a group is their "property" and if they see it elsewhere, they could file a complaint with Yahoo against you/your group. not sure if this would be helpful- you want to move a view archives to a place to easier access them, then search the archives? you could copy and paste the post(s) to a 'text' file within the group. there is no easier way to move copies to a file folder in the file section either. also, pgoffline and group fetch are often used by owners to back up their whole group in case of a glitch or a click happy moderator. you can back up your whole archives to your computer
