How can I chat with other people?

How do people boot others in chat,or do 50 pop up boxes to boot you out? What can I do to stop this maddness?

  • I go into a chat room, very respectful of others, start out saying hi to the room. Then try to get in on the conversation. I'm here to chat. Then someone starts sending like 50 or more private im's that totally covers my pc then it freezes it up and boots me out. Are these rooms moderated? Is there like a chosen person in the room that only allows a select few? Why does it say it has 50 people in the room but when I get in only 5 or so show up in the box as being in the room. If these are yahoo glitches what can I do? if they are moderated why can't they see whos dominating the rooms. I love the chat rooms but sometimes it looks like some of them are "owned" and yahoo lets them. Please answer some of these questions someone. Thanks so much for any help and understanding.

  • Answer:

Hi there The problem with you getting 50 or more private messages is caused by the bots that go into the room sending you spam messages you can turn your pms off for now until u find a better solution im sure some yahooers will help you better with this problem. Yahoo chat rooms are not moderated and never have been Somtimes when you enter a room if the room is full it will move you to another room, thats why you end up with just 5 people in the room, as the original room you tryed to enter was full. The problem is not with yahoo its with the bots that are in the chat rooms, yahoo are working on getting rid of the bots for good !
