What to send emails to Yahoo groups?

I regularly send emails to as many as 100 or more, why does it suggest I go to Yahoo Groups?

  • I am on a prayer chain for the state of Texas and send out requests for prayer. I also will send emails that are worth while, such as help getting petitions for legislature to help breast cancer patients remain in the hospital 2 days, instead of being an out patient. Why do I have trouble getting these sent?

  • Answer:

emails that are sent to that many people from a normal "personal email account" tend to be flagged as spam. Yahoo is suggesting you create a "yahoo group" for your receipients to join, so that you can create your own community, and you won't have to worry about emails being blocked as spam when they really arnt (also, yahoo wants you to use their services, so that they can get ad revenue.. which pays for their services like free email and messenger and what not)

If you are trying to mail to a large number of people at one time, a special group is indeed a better solution. Normal email is meant for a small group of people and even there, you are advised by yahoo to put all those email addresses into a list or group.
