How many members are allowed in a Yahoo group?

Is there anyway Yahoo Would Reinstate a Group That Was Deleted?

  • There was a highly used message board called "Quinolones" which served hundreds (thousands?) of suffers to this harmful medicine. One day the owner, after over 10 years, deleted it. This should not be allowed to happen to a board that was a value to so many suffers. No one person should have the power to delete something out of the blue like that. I really think Yahoo should reconsider it's rules for when a group can be deleted by the owner. It should require a vote or possibly never allow removal of a board that has hundreds if not thousands of members. Is there any way I can contact Yahoo and request this group gets put back even if I am given ownership? This is important, there are many hundreds of people suffering who needed the informant ion this board contained and it was rude and ignorant of the owner to have deleted it in the first place.

  • Answer:

Yahoo wont (even if they would at the request of the owner) reinstate a group at the request of a member and make them owner. the owner could had promoted another owner had they not wanted to keep the group, and it's too bad they didn't. the owner could e-mail Yahoo, they have been known to reinstate a deleted group, but I'd doubt a member could make that request. you have the option of adding your idea to the groups suggestion board- http://suggestions.yahoo.com/?prop=groups you also can join another group or create your own and be the owner.

whatever the issues, the owner has the power to delete it without requiring approval from yahoo, the members or anyone else to be honest, i'd say it would be incrediblt unlikely for yahoo to reinstate the group (including membership and messages); you can of course ask

We went down the same road and there was no way to retrieve the old group. We started a new group and helped members transfer...
