How do you do a general search for a group of people in a specific location?

in the old verson of yahoo, you could serch the member directory for people in your area by sex and location. Why the change now???

One reason I can think of for why this change would occur is because some people would like to keep their sexual orientation, etc private because of the potential for possible trouble like spam and such.
