How do I join a yahoo group?

How does a non-Yahoo user join a group?

• I was invited to a group using a non-yahoo email address. I clicked "join this group" and it took me to a page saying that I had to create a profile. I did. But the problem is it doesn't recognize that I am part of that group. Whenever I go to "My Groups", it tells me I am not a member of any groups. I know that if I don't have a yahoo account I can only be an email-only member, but it is kind of discouraging that I have a profile and my address is connected to Yahoo yet it doesn't look like I am a member at all. Did I do something wrong or do I just have expectations too high for what it means to be in a Yahoo group as a non-yahoo member?

  after you have created an account (and for some reason recently you also have to create an email-account) you should login to the groups website at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nameofthegroup and click to confirm that it's that login you want to use for that group. If you didn't succeed in subscribing you can click "join this group" there to become a member without logging in you simply send an empty message to [email protected] and a reply to the confirmation-request. After that you can switch to nomail/digest and/or (highly recommended by me) traditional by the same procedure obviously, where i write nameofthegroup you should use the name of the group[
