What can be done to stop yahoo group abuse on the MODERATOR level (see details)?
-
A friend of mine has recently formed a yahoo group, and in the process, the moderator of a group she used to belong to, got miffed at her, and seems to be using the group as forum to secretly wage a battle between the two; assumedly she sees the new group as a rival to her group...she has been removed from the group, but before she was, she did some damage that lingers, and continues to do so...read on for more info, and plmk if you have any insights as to how each or any of the three behaviors below might be addressed, and with whom: 1-How do we report the activity of someone who joins our group fraudulently & uses our group as a forum to put out negative comments about people? 2-What do we do when the mod/owner of another group joins our group under a fraudulent ID/profile, & puts up offensive posts? 3-And when the mod/owner of another group joins our group under a fraudulent ID/profile, & puts up a link to a new, never publicized group in order to find out who joined group 2?

Answer:
Your friend would have an extremely hard time proving all those charges. Instead of reporting anybody to Yahoo, she should just delete the messages and ban whoever posts any of this crap. Your friend can take care of her problem with messages posted on her group. She just needs change her group setting so that ALL members are moderated. Then ALL messages sent to or posted directly on the group would have to be approved by the owner or moderator before the messages actually show up on the group site. Any negative messages could be rejected and at the same time, she will know which members are the culprits. At that point, she can Ban them.

Simple solution: Go to management and then messages. Make it so all NEW members are moderated and can't post messages without approval. Then, go to management and HIDE your members list. So then that person can't go up and down your list. Then go to management and make it so nobody can post a link without approval. That should solve most of your problems.
