How do you keep msgs in private groups private?

In Yahoo groups, how do you keep random spam groups from adding you to their group?

  • I keep having weird groups add me to their list. Does anyone else have this problem? Can I put a block on this? Thx!

    Go to this page http://groups.yahoo.com/member/preferences/email/view (Email preferences). Click the "Edit" next to the email address. Uncheck the box at the top that says, "Allow group moderators to directly add me to their groups." The one below that is for invitations, which you may or may not want to uncheck. Save changes when you are done.

they are not actually adding you to the group. It's just spam mail, try unsubscribing to it and yahoo will email you saying this is a unknown group.
