The display name I gave Yahoo is not showing up as "author" in the emails I send to my Yahoo groups.?
-
When I post on Yahoo groups I am shown as someone different than what I've requested my display name to be. I've looked into my account info and how to edit but can find nothing that shows where the display name Yahoo is putting in is coming from or can be changed. Any help out there?

Answer:
*** the only other idea is possibly an alias, which would show while posting off the group and from yahoo mail, that you'd see from off the group in edit management- under Yahoo! Profile, I have a few option since I have aliases. Other than that, you got me!*** 2 things: 1) go to mail- click options (right top) drop down Mail options- left side bar click Account information - it prompts for password- click edit profile details- next page, very small on upper right click edit- under Full Name and display name, enter the desired name- click save changes upper left *when you post from off the group, the display name is what will appear. if you post from Yahoo mail, a different name may appear and it took me a while to figure this out but this should fix it 2) http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/classic/contacts/name-01.html Here's how to do it: Click Options in the upper-right corner of your Yahoo! Mail page and select Mail/More Options. From the list on the left, click Accounts. Click Yahoo! Mail under Accounts. In the your 'From' name" field, enter your name exactly as you'd like it to appear within your outgoing messages. If you leave the Reply-To field blank, your Yahoo! Mail address will be automatically included as the return address in your outgoing messages. If you'd like a different return address to be included, enter it in the Reply-To field. Click the Save button to put your new settings into effect. You have to write something in the "Name" field. If left blank, whatever was written there before will be restored and your changes won't be saved. Please note that it isn't possible to 'hide" your email address when sending messages from a Yahoo! Mail account. When you send a message, your address will appear in the "From" field in the header of the message. Note: “From” can’t contain special characters like the "@" symbol. And, the address in “Reply to:” can’t exceed 40 characters.
