How can people join Yahoo groups without a Yahoo account?

Can people without Yahoo! email accounts become members in Yahoo! groups w/o having to become a Yahoo! users?

  • I'm a Yahoo! Groups owner and primary moderator and I've sent invitations to join my group to people who do not have Yahoo! accounts. Can they join without having to create a Yahoo! account?

    You still have to have a yahoo id, yes. You may get your mail sent to a non-yahoo email address, but you have to register it under your yahoo id first.

They can send and receive emails from the list without a Yahoo! account. They won't be able to participate in polls, or any of the other stuff associated with groups.

They can become email only members. To join, they would send an email addressed: XXX-subscribe @ yahoogroups.com (close spaces) Substitute the exact name of the group for the XXX.

Yes with limitations but why not just sign up for a yahoo account? It's simple, easy and FREE.
